Industrial Expert Talk-Report
The Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram campus has organized an Industrial Expert Talk entitled “Application of Biotechnology in Cosmetic Industry” on16.08.2022.
B.Sc and B.Tech Biotechnology students were participated in this program. The program was started with “Tamizh Thai vazhthu”. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. M. Kamaraj, Associate Professor, Head (i/c). Felicitated by Dr. N. Ashokan, Vice Principal (Academic) in his speech he appreciated the department to conducted such program which is very useful to student community. He also emphasise the importance and roles of biotechnology industries in a recent days. He congratulated the newly elected Bio-consortium Club office bearers (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) with their respective badges.
The Guest introduction was given by Mr. Navin Kumar, President of Bio consortium Club and the session of handed over to guest speaker Dr. Jeeva Senrayan, Executive Scientist Formulation, CavinKare Private Limited, Chennai. He delivered a talk on “Application of Biotechnology in Cosmetic Industry”. He highlighted the important of biotechnology in cosmetic industry and its development in recent scenario. He also discussed various types of cosmetic products such as facial cream, mineral oils and their attraction towards population. Session was ended with vote of thanks by Mr. Shanmugarajan, Vice President, Bio consortium Club. Over all 122 students were participated in this event and benefited. The event is formally end with the national anthem.
