  • He added that for the very first time in India,  the Department has launched Generative AI Innovation Centre

FELICITATIONS: Dr V Saravanan- VICE PRINCIPAL ACADEMIC

Dr V Saravanan Vice Principal Academic offered felicitations and he explained about the impact of Chat-GPT . He added that the Department has been in association with DeepSphere.AI From 2020 onwards

He concluded his address by stating about the importance of Generative AI in Education and Research

PRESIDENTIAL ADDRESS: Maj.Dr.M.Venkataramanan, DEAN-CSH

Maj.Dr.M.Venkataramanan ,Dean-CSH presented the presidential address and emphasized about the importance of Generative AI-

He added that Generative AI models learn the patterns and structure of their input training data and then generate new data that has similar characteristics. He concluded his address by congratulating the efforts taken by the department in reaching the milestones.

TECHNICAL SESSION

  • Mr Jothi Periasamy started the session with an introduction to intelligence,  emotional intelligence and AI.
  • He then explained about

“REALIZING THE POTENTIAL OF GENERATIVE AI IN INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS”

  • AI technology is widely used throughout industry, government, and science. Some high-profile applications are: advanced web search engines (e.g., Google Search)
  • He then explained about self-driving cars (e.g., Waymo), generative and creative tools (Chat-GPT and AI art), and superhuman play and analysis in strategy games (such as chess and Go).
  • His address continued with the explanation of Generative AI vs Traditional AI:
  • He added that Generative AI going mainstream: transformers and the breakthrough language models they enabled.
  • The rapid advances in so-called large language models (LLMs) — i.e., models with billions or even trillions of parameters — have opened a new era in which generative AI models can write engaging text, paint photorealistic images and even create somewhat entertaining sitcoms on the fly.
  • He concluded his speech with a hands on demo on usage of generative AI in question papers setting and evaluating process.
