We the Department of Visual Communication organized One Day workshop on Fashion Photography led by renowned photographer Ms.Pallavi Periasami , our Alumni Student of 2020 batch provided an insightful glimpse into the world of capturing fashion through the lens. The welcome speech and felicitation was presented by Dr.V.Prabakaran, Head/School of Media Studies. The workshop aimed to enrich participants with practical skills and theoretical knowledge essential for excelling in fashion photography. Ms.Pallavi Periasami shared her expertise on various techniques, including lighting, composition, and framing, essential for creating visually stunning fashion photographs. She emphasized the importance of understanding the aesthetics of fashion to effectively convey the designer’s vision.
The workshop included hands-on sessions where students had the opportunity to experiment with different camera settings and lighting setups under Pallavi’s guidance. These practical exercises helped students apply theoretical concepts in real-world scenarios. Pallavi shared valuable insights into the evolving landscape of fashion photography and provided guidance on building a successful career in the industry. She discussed the importance of networking, branding, and staying updated with current trends to thrive in the competitive field of fashion photography. Overall, the Fashion Photography workshop by Ms.Pallavi Periasami proved to be a valuable learning experience for Viscom students at SRM, equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to pursue a career in fashion photography with confidence and creativity.
