NATIONAL LEVEL SKILL DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR ON “SCIENCE FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE”
The Department of Biotechnology, SRMIST, Ramapuram has organized a National level skill development seminar on “Science for a Sustainable Future” on the celebration of National Science Day – 2024. This seminar was delivered by Dr. Tara Kashav, PhD., Assistant Professor, Department of Life Science, Central University of South Bihar, Gaya, Bihar, India which is held on 28-02-2024, from 02:00 pm to 03:00 pm. The total number of student participants attended this seminar was 141. Ms. Hemavarshini of II year B.Sc., Biotechnology student has formally introduced the chief guest.

- Importance of sustainability
- Necessity of renewable energy-affordable and clean energy
- Importance of sustainable agriculture
- Permaculture-importance, benefits, success stories
- Targets towards net-zero emission by 2070
The program ended up with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. R. Vinoth Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM IST, Ramapuram.
