CURRENT TRENDS IN JAVA WITH ANDROID

The Department of Computer Science and Applications organized a guest lecture program for second-year B.Sc. (CS) and Cyber Security students. The session provided a fresh perspective on the application of Java in Android development and the latest updates in the IT sector.

Summary of the event:

Mrs. Kanimozhi, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Applications, welcomed the attendees and introduced the guest.

Dr. J. Jebamalar Tamilselvi, Associate Professor, and Programme Coordinator, Department of Computer Science and Applications, presented tokens of appreciation to the esteemed guest.

Mr. P. Thiyagarajan began the session by discussing the “Latest updates in the Industry” and shared about the reality of placements and layoffs. Then the session continued with deeper insights into Android development.

Common Java libraries and frameworks used in Android development: Android Jetpack, Retrofit, Gson, and Espresso are common Java libraries and frameworks used to enhance functionality, improve efficiency, and streamline the development process.

Java’s role in Developing robust Android Applications:

  • Robust Standard Library
  • Error Detection, etc…

 Android Architecture: The main components of Android architecture are the following:-
