Objective of the Event
Exploring Entrepreneurship

The event aimed to explore the possibilities of entrepreneurship and product development while being a student. The process of how a simple idea can be transferred in to a product was explained.

To Provide Knowledge on Lean Methodology

An introduction to lean methodology, a method to initiate and further build on a business model was discussed. Information on government funding “PRISM” for start-up was provided.

About IIC

Dr. Ramya Devi, Assistant Professor, BCA Data Science, Innovation Cell Coordinator FSH gave an insight into Entrepreneurship and the related activity being conducted in the Institute’s Innovation Cell.

Chief Guest Introduction

Dr. R.Vidhya, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, introduced the resource person for the session.

Technical Session

  1. A brief introduction to entrepreneurial possibilities for student communities was explained.
  2. The concept of simple and multi-disciplinary out-of-box thinking and collaboration was introduced to the students.
  3. A strategic approach to innovate and develop a product with the help of a roadmap was discussed with the students using lean methodology.
  4. The possibility of government support for start-ups in terms of funding was enlightened.
  5. PRISM funding was briefly discussed.

Outcome

Students gained insights on how to initiate and start simple when trying to innovate and develop a product. Students learnt the possibility of government support through funding such as PRISM for start-ups. They were provided a roadmap on different steps and strategies to look out for, before and during an entrepreneurial journey.
