“Photography Workshop at St Joseph’s School of Excellence, Mugalivakkam”

The F8 Foto Club, at the School of Media Studies, Department of Visual Communication, SRMIST Ramapuram conducted a “Photography Basics Workshop” on 12.09.2024 at The St. Joseph’s School of Excellence, Mugalivakkam . The Workshop was conducted for 11th and 12th standard students.
Students were taught about the basic definition of photography, types of photography, the exposure triangle in photography with its 3 key elements ( Aperture, Shutterspeed and ISO ), types of cameras and types of lenses used for various purposes. Students then got a chance to get hands – on experience with a camera as they were taught how to capture pictures by adjusting the fundamental settings of the camera and were allowed to experiment with it.
This workshop exposed the students to photography and media, which sparked new interests in them and gave them exposure too into the industry. The Workshop was successfully conducted by Viscom students under the guidance of Dr. V Prabhakaran ( Head, Media Studies ), Ms. P. Yuvarani ( Programme Coordinator, Viscom ) and Ms. Sindhuja Sivaji ( Asst. Prof., Viscom )
