Dr.S. Jamuna, Founder and Director, Affyclone Laboratories Pvt Ltd, Chrompet, Chennai was invited as resource person for the Skill Development Program. Her research expertise includes Molecular cardiology, Myocardial Infarction, Nanobiotechnology, Molecular cell biology and Biochemistry. She completed CSIR Nehru-PDF from CLRI, Adyar, Chennai, India. She received many award including UGC BSR-SRF, UGC BSR-JRF, UGC CPEPA-Project Fellow, NMPB-JRF and published more than 20 research articles in reputed journals. She also served as a reviewer in several research journals including springer nature, Frontiers Journals, Advances in Biochemistry, Indian Journal of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Springer-Biodegradation. She also presented her research finding in various international and national conferences.
Summary Of The Event :
Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, Chennai, organized “Skill Development Program on From Synthesis to Application: Nanoparticles in Medical Biosensors and Beyond” on 12.09.2024 at 2.30-3.30pm by online. The resource person explained and demonstrated about History and overview of nanotechnology, Methods of nanoparticles synthesis and classifications, gold nanoparticles synthesis and applications, How nanoparticles used as a biosensor in medical fields, Components and designing of biosensors, Types and advances of biosensors, and Important of biosensors in cholesterol detection. She also explained about ongoing research and facilities available in her Affyclone laboratory.
Outcomes Of The Programs :
In view of SDG goals, the participants gained knowledge about basic requirements and methods of nanoparticles preparation, classification of nanoparticles, components and designing of biosensors and its applications in the medical fields for sensing of biomolecules.
