The School of Media Studies, Department of Visual Communication, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, organized an industrial visit to Hello FM 106.4 in Purasaiwakkam, Chennai, on 5th October 2024. MSc Visual Communication students participated in the visit, which took place from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. During the visit, the students had the unique opportunity to attend a live radio program and observe the dynamic work of an RJ during a live show, gaining valuable insights into the fast-paced world of radio broadcasting. Additionally, students were given a behind-the-scenes tour of the radio station, where they learned about its day-to-day operations and the technical aspects that keep a radio station running smoothly.
The visit was coordinated by Assistant Professor Ms. Jennifer, under the leadership of Convenor Dr. V. Prabakaran and Co-convenor Ms. P. Yuvarani, Programme Coordinator of Visual Communication. The visit offered a comprehensive look at the inner workings of a professional radio environment, enriching students’ understanding of the field and providing them with real-world knowledge of media operations.
