INTRODUCTION

The Event commenced with a warm Welcome Address, given by Dr.V.Deepa, Associate Professor & Programme Co-ordinator, Dept. of A&F, welcomed the resource person and briefing the resource person profile was given by Dr.N.Alamelu Sathyabama – Assistant Professor. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by expressing gratitude to all the participants and organizers by Dr.S.Prathiksha – Assistant Professor.

Day-1 (16.09.2024) Overview of Research Methodology  

The following topics covered by the resource person What is research?Where we can apply Research.Problem Identification& Research Design, The program session went well and targeted academicians, research scholars, professionals, and students who aspire to enhance their research capabilities in the fields of finance, accounting, and allied disciplines.

Day-2 (17.09.2024 ) Qualitative & Quantitative Research

The following topics covered by the resource person  Meaning of Qualitative & Quantitative Research Qualitative research methods  Quantitative research design process The program session had an overwhelming response followed by question and answer session that impacts academicians, research scholars, pg students   enhance their research capabilities in their relevant disciplines.

Day-3 (18/09/2024) Importance of Literature Review in research and sources of literature

The following topics covered by the resource person Key features of a good quality Review of Literature Types of Review of Literature Resources of a literature review The Lecture session gave a clarity on how to identify the research gaps and how the literature resources have to be related with the research topics. Academicians, research scholars, PG students posted doubts and got it clarified on the same.

Day-4 (19/09/2024) Steps in collecting literature review and tools for literature management

Today’s topic threw a light on how to critically evaluate a literature and bring the same as a review rather than a literature report. Academicians, research scholars, PG students posted their doubts and got it clarified for the same.

Today’s session gave a glimpse  to the participants on how to identify research gaps and addressing these challenges and using effective strategies help researchers more successfully identify meaningful research gaps that contribute to advancing knowledge in their fields.

Many examples are shared to participants and session was highly an interactive one.

The following topics covered by the resource person today To identify predatory journals, check for questionable practices such as rapid and non-transparent peer review, excessive publication fees without editorial services, and vague or misleading journal information.

Day -8 (23/09/2024) Ethical Considerations in research plagiarism and its consequences

The following topics covered by the resource person today are  Key ethical considerations in research Plagiarism meaning and its types with examples Prevention of plagiarism and free plagiarism checker. They were also made aware of tools and techniques to detect and prevent plagiarism in their work. The session emphasized the importance of ethical research practices and maintaining academic integrity.

Day -9 (24/09/2024) Probability & non probability sampling techniques

After attending the session on sampling methods, participants gained a clear understanding of various techniques like random, stratified, and cluster sampling. These methods will enhance the accuracy and reliability of their research data collection.

These methods include interviews, which can be structured, semi-structured, or unstructured, allowing participants to share detailed responses

Over the course of three weeks, participants will gain exposure to both theoretical and practical aspects of research methodology, including topics such as literature review, qualitative and quantitative research, data collection, analysis tools, and ethical considerations in research.
