17.12.2024: SESSION 2: THE ROLE OF 2D ANIMATION IN MODERN STORYTELLING WITH MS. SWETHA 

EVENT REPORT: The Department of Visual Communication at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, hosted an enriching guest lecture on “The Role of 2D Animation in Modern Storytelling” on 17th December 2024. The session, held from 11 AM to 1:20 PM at Gallery Hall 1, Block 5, was conducted by Ms. Swetha, a professional 2D Animator, for II-year Viscom and PG students. Ms. Swetha covered the essentials of 2D animation, including software tools, tweening properties, masking techniques, and creating guided paths. She thoroughly explained character animation, particularly walk cycles, and encouraged students to practice drawing stick figures to understand the animation process better. Guided by Dr. V. Prabakaran, Head of Media Studies, as Convenor, and Ms. P. Yuvarani, Programme Coordinator, as Co-convenor, the session enhanced students’ understanding of animation techniques, fostering their skills
