The SARAM Project Expo 2025, held on January 9th and 10th at SRM Institute of Science & Technology, Ramapuram, showcased innovative student projects across disciplines. The Department of Visual Communication played a pivotal role in the expo, presenting two interactive and cutting-edge projects. The first project, Virtual Film Production: A Modern Approach to Filmmaking, demonstrated the potential of virtual reality in revolutionizing film production. Students created a miniature of The Enchanted Castle, scanned it in 3D, and loaded it into a VR environment. Participants, wearing VR glasses, experienced the sensation of standing inside the castle, offering a captivating glimpse into the future of immersive filmmaking.
The second project, Game Design Using Core Engine, featured a dynamic deathmatch-style game developed with the Core engine, built on Unreal Engine 4. Visitors explored features such as asset libraries, multiplayer support, and visual scripting through hands-on gameplay. The event saw enthusiastic participation from school students, staff, and attendees from other campuses, all deeply engaged in interactive sessions and practical demonstrations. The vibrant audience response highlighted the success of the projects in sparking curiosity and showcasing the innovative potential of Visual Communication students.
