Summary of the Event: We recently had the privilege of hosting a cinematography lighting workshop led by Mr.Arun Kumar, an esteemed alumnus of SRM Film Tech and a renowned cinematographer. The workshop began with a thorough introduction to the basics of camera operations, focusing on the exposure triangle. Arun detailed the functions and interplay of aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, providing hands-on demonstrations that helped demystify these essential concepts. The session was incredibly informative, allowing participants to gain a solid understanding of how to manipulate these settings to achieve desired visual effects.
Following the fundamentals, Mr Arun deliver into various lighting techniques, including two-point, three-point, and four-point lighting setups. He explained the importance and application of rim lighting, back lighting, and other methods to enhance the visual storytelling. The workshop concluded with an engaging discussion on the essence of cinematography, where attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and share insights. This interactive component enriched the learning experience, making it an invaluable session for all participants.
