One Day Seminar on Unlocking The Power of Machine Learning Strategies and Insights for Modern Applications Using Teaching Machine Learning

The Department of Computer Science and Applications (BCA) organized a Journal Club event titled “One Day Seminar on Unlocking The Power of Machine Learning Strategies and Insights for Modern Applications Using Teaching Machine Learning” on September 13, 2024. The seminar took place from 12:05 AM to 1:00 PM in the Computer Lab on the 4th Floor of Block V, with 60 undergraduate students in attendance.
Welcome Address: Dr. V. Pavithra, an Assistant Professor in BCA, welcomed the participants and highlighted the benefits of the Journal Club, introducing the guest speaker.
Chief Guest Address: Dr. S. Umarani, a Professor from SRM IST, began her address by discussing recent trends in research related to machine learning. Key topics included:
● Basic concepts of machine learning and their relevance to current trends.
● Implementation of recent AI concepts in research.
● Practical demonstration of machine learning models using Python.
● Introduction to Teachable Machine Learning concepts.
● Identification of vital research areas such as augmented intelligence, reinforcement learning, and image processing.
● Insights on converting projects into research papers.
● Demonstration of Teachable Machine Learning models.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where students actively engaged and raised queries.
