On January 29th, 2025, the Warren Buffet Finance Club at SRM Institute of Science and Technology organized the “Trade to Win: Paper Trading Challenge” at the Faculty of Management, Ramapuram. The event, held in Room 202, PG Block, offered 60 MBA students a unique, hands-on experience of stock market trading in a simulated, risk-free environment, aimed at enhancing their practical understanding of financial markets.

The event kicked off with an engaging welcome address by MBA student Fredrick Bastro, who highlighted the importance of experiential learning in finance. Dr. R. Arulmozhi, Head of the Department, also graced the event and emphasized how practical experiences like these bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world applications.

The core of the event was the paper trading challenge, led by Albert Ronith John and Fredrick Bastro. Participants used the a paper trading platform to manage virtual portfolios in simulated market conditions. The challenge enabled students to apply trading strategies, analyze market trends, and make quick decisions, all while working in teams. This interactive format not only provided practical trading experience but also encouraged teamwork and the development of essential skills for navigating financial markets.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Sharmila Devi R, who expressed gratitude to the management, Dean Dr. C. Sundar, and Dr. R. Arulmozhi for their support, and appreciated the enthusiasm and contributions of the student organizers and participants.

The feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive, with participants noting the value of the event in enhancing their understanding of stock market dynamics, trading strategies, and teamwork.
