SUMMARY OF THE EVENT

The Department of Biotechnology,  in association with Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin and INTI International University & Colleges, Malaysia successfully conducted the 4th International Conference on Biotechnological Emergence in Science and Technology (ICBEST – 2025)   in celebration of World Sustainable Energy Day 2025 and  National Science Day 2025.

The conference received 150 abstracts including Young Scientists, Young Research, and a totally of 200 UG, PG, and Ph.D students across the globe.  This event brought together distinguished scientists, researchers, and industry experts from all over the globe.  Professor Madya Dr Nor Farid Bin Mohammed Noor, UniSZA, Malaysia initiated the first session engaging the participants in medical biotechnology. The second session on lung cancer biomarkers and metabolic derangements where taken over by Professor Doctor Mahadeva Rao, UniSZA, Malaysia. Dr Erick Nyakundi, Kenya highlighted the audience on nanotechnology in agriculture and its transformative potential. The second day began with Professor TS Dr Jolias Bin Gimbun from Malaysia to stock and explained to everyone on microcapsule technology for enhancing stability and controlled release of plant polyphenols. Following this Professor Dr Kartika Senjarini, from Indonesia gave her insightful thoughts on the development of vector base transmission blocking mechanisms for mosquito-borne diseases. Dr Noel Jacob Kaleekkal from NIT Calicut graced the occasion online and gave insightful thoughts on water treatment. Dr. N. Saravanan, Scientist E from ICMR NIRT graced the Valedictory and concluded the conference with prize distribution

OUTCOMES OF THE PROGRAM

The conference achieved its aim of serving as a forum for exchange of cutting-edge research and innovation. It served as a platform for future collaborations. The topics covered by speakers as well as participants covered from basic concepts to applied aspects.
