SUMMARY OF THE EVENT:
Opening:
The event commenced with the Thamizh Thai Vazhthu by students from the College of Science and Humanities, setting a respectful and cultural tone for the proceedings.
Welcome Address:
The Head of the Department, Dr. N. Meenakshi, delivered the welcome speech, introducing the topic of corporate communication. She emphasized the integration of journalism with corporate communication and discussed the growing importance of content writing and conceptualization in the industry. Shasmitha, a first-year student, followed with an address, highlighting the significance of the event.
Introduction of Chief Guest:
Mrs. Ahila Ezhil Gowsalya, Assistant Professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, introduced the chief guest, Mr. Nauman Naushad. She provided an overview of his background and achievements, setting the stage for an informative session.
Technical Session:
Mr. Naushad began his presentation with Chapter 1: “Corporate Communication,” discussing its critical role in aligning business goals with stakeholder interests. He covered the ethical considerations in corporate communication and shared a quote: “Tell the truth, make the truth fascinating,” emphasizing the importance of engaging and honest communication. He highlighted the need for effective internal communication, public relations, and crisis management.
In the “Inter Chapter,” Mr. Naushad shared his personal journey from humble beginnings at Decathlon to his current role at
Adidas. He stressed the importance of seizing opportunities and self-learning. He discussed the skills required in the field, such as writing, designing, and video production, and provided practical advice on building a career in corporate communication.
The session concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, where Mr. Naushad addressed questions on tools like Canva, managing conflicts, and the distinctions between public relations and internal communication.
Vote of Thanks:
Rishi, a second-year student, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the chief guest, faculty members, and attendees for their participation and contributions.
