The Department of Visual Communication, SRM IST, Ramapuram, organized an Intercollegiate Painting Competition on March 7, 2025, as part of International Women’s Day 2025. The event saw enthusiastic participation from female students across various parts of Chennai, following the theme “Indo-Korean Art Fusion.” The competition was inaugurated by Ms. R. Sudha, National Champion – Pistol Shooter (ISSF), at the Preview Theatre, 6th Floor, PG Dental Block. She shared valuable insights, inspiring the participants before officially commencing the event. To mark the beginning, the chief guest distributed the canvases to the participants, encouraging them to showcase their creativity.
The valedictory ceremony at Hi-tech Hall 2, TRP Auditorium, featured Ms. Preethy Karan, Actor, who appreciated the students’ artistic talent and announced the winners. Trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, along with appreciation and participation certificates, were awarded. The event was a resounding success, coordinated under the guidance of Convenor Dr. V. Prabakaran,Head/ Media Studies, Co-Convenor Ms. P. Yuvarani, Programme Coordinator/ Viscom, and Staff Coordinators Dr. D. Saravanan Asst. Prof/ Viscom and Ms. Sindhuja Sivaji Asst. Prof/ Viscom.
