SUMMARY OF THE EVENT:
The event began with a warm welcome address by Dr. S.Vijayarani, Associate Professor , Faculty of Management. She expressed immense pride in the achievements of women, both within the institution and across the world.
The Head of Department of MBA Dr.R.Aulmoli delivered a heartfelt felicitation address, highlighting the significance of the various schemes available for women. He also mentioned Government initiatives to empower women by providing them with resources, mentorship, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Followed by a felicitation address, on the occasion of International women’s day our visionary leader and Mentor Dr.C.Sundar, Dean , Faculty of Management delivered an inspiring speech that highlighted the remarkable achievements of women in various fields. The speech began by acknowledging the first woman CEO , first woman governor and contribution of women in politics with respect to India. The
Dean sir pointed out that the journey to top positions remains difficult for many women due to persistent structural inequalities, gender biases, and societal expectations. A large number of organizations, across the world still have far fewer women in senior leadership roles compared to their male counterparts.
The Dean – Dr.C.Sundar shared the percentage of women faculty members within the department, praising their dedication, knowledge, and mentorship, which contribute to shaping future leaders. The achievements of the women students who secured university ranks and their contribution in the department were also celebrated, with recognition of their hard work, ambition, and potential.
Followed by Dean’s speech Alumni guest MS. Evangelin (Batch 2018 – 2020) Shared about her career and SRM memories . She deeply explained role modelism . She highlighted the importance of empowering every girl or woman to become a role model. This will develop confidence, ambition, and leadership qualities among women, inspiring them to not only achieve their personal goals but also make a significant impact in her community and beyond.
The International Women’s Day special address given by Ms.Umamaheswari, Director – Procurement, Travel and CSR , Prodapt , Chennai . She gave a deep impactful speech over her corporate experiences and the struggles that she went through in her 33 years of experience . She underscored the crucial role that education plays in enabling women to unlock their full potential. Education equips women with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to participate fully in economic, political, and social spheres. It was emphasized that educated women are more likely to have better job opportunities, contribute to their families’ well-being, and act as catalysts for change within their communities.
Followed by various events and competitions conducted for girl students and women faculty.
