SUMMARY OF THE EVENT

The Drug Awareness Programme for MBA students was designed to educate future business leaders about the risks of drug abuse and its impact on personal and professional life.  The session began with an engaging welcome address by Dr. R. Arulmozhi, Head of the Department, who emphasized the crucial role of drug awareness in today’s society. The session, led by Dr. Annama Reddy Chamundeswari, covered key topics such as the definition and types of commonly abused drugs, their psychological and physiological effects, and warning signs of addiction. She also highlighted the consequences of drug abuse on mental health, legal implications, and corporate policies. Through real-life case studies, students gained insights into how substance abuse can affect career growth and workplace environments. The session was highly interactive, with students actively engaging and clarifying their doubts regarding addiction and prevention. Dr. Chamundeswari also discussed specialization options, online courses, networking, and emerging technologies relevant to career development. Participants appreciated the initiative taken by the Faculty of Management, expressing gratitude for an informative and thought-provoking session. This program is expected to contribute positively to students’ awareness and reinforce a drug-free culture within the institution. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. P. Prasad Babu who expressed gratitude to the student organizers, participants, and the management for their support. Feedback from students revealed that the event provided a valuable learning experience, enhancing their understanding of drug abuse, its consequences, preventive measures, and the importance of a drug-free environment, making it a memorable and educational session.
