SUMMARY OF THE EVENT:
Guardians of The Glaciers: Celebrating World Water Day 2025 event was organized on 21.03.2025 at PG Block, Lecture Hall 202 from 01:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Dr.R.Arulmoli, HOD (MBA) gave the Welcome address and graced the event by highlighting the importance of water and conservation of water. The Key note speaker Dr. Jeffrey Jim Salvius. J interacted with MBA Students spoke about the prominence of conservation of water in the world.
Key Deliverables from the speaker are as follows:
- 2 billion people lack access to safely managed drinking water, severely impacting lives and society.
- A well-managed water cycle supports global progress on hunger, health, gender equity, education, livelihoods, sustainability, and ecosystems.
- Water is central to climate adaptation, linking human society, the environment, and the climate system.
- Poor water management can lead to competition, crises, and emergencies across water-dependent sectors.
- World Water Day celebrates water and drives action to address the global water crisis, focusing on SDG 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030.
- Held annually on 22 March, World Water Day is coordinated by UN-Water with global campaigns, events, and advocacy.
- The campaign reaches billions, sparking discussions and influencing policy through the release of the UN World Water Development Report.
- The speaker concluded the session by calling everyone to be Guardians of The Glaciers.
- Participants Interacted and enjoyed the session, felt happy and thanked the Faculty of Management for organizing such an interesting and energizing programme.
This session has proven to be a beneficial resource for students and is expected to contribute positively to the overall efficiency and productivity of the institution in preserving the water.
