The Department of English & Other Foreign Languages organized a one-day workshop on The Art of Storytelling: An Analysis in Narratology on February 28, 2025, at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram. The event featured a series of insightful sessions designed to enhance participants’ understanding of storytelling techniques and narrative theory.
The workshop commenced with an inaugural session followed by Session I: The Art of Storytelling, which explored the fundamental elements of a story, such as plot, characters, setting, and themes. After a short tea break, Session II: Crafting a Story – Practice Session engaged attendees in hands-on exercises to develop their storytelling skills, encouraging creativity and structural coherence. Post-lunch, Session III: Narrative Theorists introduced participants to structuralist and post-structuralist approaches in narratology, discussing key theorists and their contributions to storytelling across various media.
