SRM Institution of Science and Technology Hosts Skill Development Programme on Effective English Communication

Chennai, December 9, 2024 – The Department of English and other Foreign Languages, Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram Campus, Chennai, organized a comprehensive Skill Development Programme (SDP) on “Skirmishes and Tenacities in Effective English Communication” on Monday. The event, held at the TRB Auditorium from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., aimed at enhancing the English communication skills of the participants.

The programme commenced with the recital of “Tamil Thai Vazhthu,” followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Sridevi T, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of English. Her introduction set a positive tone for the day’s events. Following the welcome, the Chief Guest, Dr. Bharath N, a Learning and Development Analyst at Accenture Solutions Pt. Ltd., Chennai, was honoured and introduced by Dr. R. Rexmart, Assistant Professor of English.

Dr. Bharath shared his extensive knowledge and experience in the field of learning and development, focusing on overcoming challenges and building resilience in effective English communication. Dr. Bharath’s insightful address provided valuable strategies and practical tips to the attendees, which included students and faculty members, fostering an interactive and engaging learning environment.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. R. Blessy, Assistant Professor of English, who expressed gratitude to the participants, organizers, and the Chief Guest for their contributions to the event’s success. The event ended on a patriotic note with the national anthem.

The convenors of the event, Dr. R. Rexmart and Dr. R. Blessy, along with co-convenors Dr. K. Kavitha and Mrs. M. Nathiya, Assistant Professors of English, played a crucial role in organizing and ensuring the smooth execution of the programme.
