The Department of English & Other Foreign Languages organized a one-day international seminar on “The Intersection of Artificial Intelligence in Language and Literature” on February 22, 2025. The event was conducted online and saw active participation from faculty members, research scholars, and students.
Dr. P. Nehru, in his session, discussed how AI-powered tools assist in language acquisition, improving communication skills, and providing a more interactive learning experience. He highlighted various AI-based applications that facilitate language comprehension and development.
Dr. V. L. Jayapaul’s session focused on AI’s transformative impact on creative writing and literature. He explored AI-generated literature, machine learning models for storytelling, and ethical considerations in AI-assisted creativity. His talk encouraged discussions on the evolving role of technology in literary studies.
The seminar successfully engaged participants in thought-provoking discussions, broadening their understanding of AI’s implications in linguistic and literary fields.
