Summary of the Event:
On September 10, 2024, a group of Film Technology students embarked on an insightful industrial visit to the live shooting set of the acclaimed Vijay TV serial “Mahanadhi,” located at Ponniyamman Kovil in Karambakkam, Porur. This visit provided students with a unique opportunity to observe the practical aspects of television production in action. They witnessed the intricacies of set design, camera operations, and the overall production workflow. The experience was invaluable for bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world application, allowing students to see firsthand how theoretical concepts in film technology are applied in a professional environment.
The visit also included interactive sessions with key crew members, including the director, cinematographer, and production staff, who shared their expertise and experiences. Students engaged in discussions about the creative and technical challenges of producing a high-profile serial, gaining insights into industry-standard practices and innovative techniques. This hands-on exposure not only deepened their understanding of the filmmaking process but also inspired them to explore new possibilities within their field. Overall, the visit to “Mahanadhi” enriched the students’ academic experience and provided a comprehensive look into the practical aspects of film technology and production.
