Objective of the Event:

The primary objective of the Drug Awareness Campaign at SRM College on 3rd September 2024 was to educate and empower students to resist the temptations of drug use. The event aimed to foster a strong sense of responsibility within the student body, encouraging them to actively participate in creating a drug-free campus. By engaging students through visual displays and a symbolic march, the campaign sought to cultivate a supportive and informed community that prioritizes health and well-being.

10:30 AM – Inauguration and Keynote Speech:

The campaign began in front of SRM Ramapuram Block 5 with an inauguration ceremony. Mrs. Jean, Assistant Dean of Campus Life, opened the event with a compelling speech on the dangers of drug abuse and the critical role students play in maintaining a safe campus environment. Dr.C.Sundar,Dean of the FSH college followed with remarks highlighting the institution’s dedication to student welfare and the importance of preventive education.

10:40 AM – Placard Display and Awareness March:

The event continued with a visually impactful display of placards bearing powerful quotes about staying drug-free. Following the display, a small march was conducted around the Pathway, with nearly 50 students actively participating. The march served as a symbolic act to reinforce the campaign’s message and attract attention from the wider college community, sparking conversations about the importance of making healthy lifestyle choices.

10:50 AM – Closing Remarks:

The campaign concluded with closing remarks from the head of the board, who praised the students for their enthusiasm and participation. He reiterated the college’s unwavering stance against drug abuse and encouraged ongoing efforts to maintain a drug-free campus.
