Department of MCA organizes an Orientation programme for the I year MCA students. The programme is aimed to familiarize the students with academic procedures, departmental activities, facilities available on campus, and to motivate them for a productive academic journey. Distinguished Alumni and Industry experts are invited for Guest Lectures.

Summary of the Event:
The Programme was organised to familiarize the students with Academic procedures, Departmental activities, facilities available in the Campus and to motivate them for a productive academic journey.
Distinguished Alumni of the College , Ms.Srinidhi , Mr.Nithish Kumar and an Industry expert Mr.Madan Kartheesan were invited to address the students. Mr. Nithish Kumar(Batch 2020-2022) , placed in the Company Optum, Chennai as Senior Software engineer gave an awareness on the Industry needs. He spoke on the topic Alumni Spotlight – Date to dream for marque offers
Ms.Srinidhi (Batch :2023-2025) , got 4 offers through the placement cell of the college and now placed in Accenture as Packaged App Development Associate gave a talk on the topic Placement Skills and guided the students about how to manage their academic work and also develop themselves to meet industry needs.
Mr.Mathan Kartheesan, is an Senior Industry expert. He is a Technical Leader in Object Automation Systems Solutions Pvt. Ltd. His topic is MCA Launchpad: Ignite your future . He guided the students about how to improve their profile in their college days itself. The students felt all the sessions very interesting and also informative.
Finally, the convenor of the programme proposed vote of thanks and Dr.R.Agusthiyar, Head, Department of MCA honoured the guests with a momento and ended the programme.
Day 2 of the Orientation programme started with the awareness session by the Placement Coordinator Mr.Monish. He stated that the placement cell aims to equip the students with the skills, confidence and direction needed to step into the corporate world. He also mentioned that they prepare MCA students to meet the demands of the evolving IT and tech industry by guiding them to become not only efficient programmers but also effective communicators.
Distinguished Alumnus of the College , Mr.Anandh Srinivasan (Batch:2007-2010), Associate Consultant, TCS spoke on the topic Bridging Campus to Corporate. He guided students to align their strengths,passions and academic background with suitable career paths.
Mr.Laven Lokesh Barani, Founder, Plant Green Inertia gave a talk on the topic Digital Skills for better employability. He stated the importance of developing proficiency in tools like spread sheets, communication platforms and coding. He also insisted that developing digital literacy not only enhances productivity but also opens doors to global career opportunities.
Ms.Samundeeswari, Student Counsellor of the Campus addressed the students. She spoke on promoting a healthy mindset. She stated that ‘Success in the tech world requires both strong coding skills and a clear, calm mind.’
The students felt that interacting with faculties alumni and industry experts helped them feel more connected and motivated .
With the best wishes for a successful academic journey the programme was brought to an end.
OUTCOME OF THE EVENT BASED ON SDG:
The Orientation Programme successfully introduced first-year students to the vision of education aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Students gained awareness of global challenges and understood the importance of sustainability, equality, and social responsibility in their academic and personal lives. The sessions encouraged them to become active contributors toward SDG goals such as Quality Education (SDG 4) and Sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11).
