Environmental Footprint of Fast Fashion Webinar was conducted on 21th January 2025 with the aim of providing the The webinar aimed to raise awareness about the hidden costs of fast fashion and inspire attendees to make more sustainable choices. It provided valuable insights into the environmental challenges posed by the industry and offered potential solutions for a more responsible and eco-conscious approach to fashion. The webinar was attended by I Year B.Sc and I M.Sc Students.

This webinar delved into the significant environmental impact of the fast fashion industry, exploring its contribution to pollution, waste generation, and resource depletion. Key topics covered included:
- Water Pollution: The webinar highlighted how fast fashion’s dyeing and finishing processes contribute to water contamination due to the use of harmful chemicals and excessive water consumption.
- Waste Generation: The industry’s reliance on cheap, disposable clothing leads to massive amounts of textile waste ending up in landfills.
- Resource Depletion: Fast fashion’s demand for raw materials like cotton puts a strain on natural resources and contributes to deforestation and soil degradation.
- Microplastic Pollution: The webinar discussed how synthetic fibers shed microplastics during washing, which end up polluting waterways and harming marine life.
Carbon Emissions: The production, transportation, and disposal of fast fashion contribute significantly to greenhouse gas emissions, exacerbating climate change.
