SUMMARY OF THE EVENT

Dr.C. Sahila, Associate Professor, Department of Commerce delivered the welcome address. In her speech she warmly greeted the gathering and extended a heartfelt welcome to the guest. Dr. Dr.T. Mahesh Kumar. She expressed her appreciation to Dr.T. Mahesh Kumar for accepting the invitation to share his valuable insights.

SESSION REPORT

The session aimed to enhance the research skills of faculty members, scholars, and postgraduate students by providing valuable guidance to introduce participants to the fundamentals of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using SmartPLS software. The session was led by the esteemed Dr. Dr. T. Mahesh Kumar, who brought his vast academic experience and publication expertise to the platform. The session aimed to demystify complex quantitative analysis techniques and promote confidence in applying PLS-SEM for empirical research.

  • Introduction to SEM and PLS-SEM – The facilitator explained the difference between CB-SEM and PLS-SEM and when to use each.
  • Overview of SmartPLS Software – Installation, interface walkthrough, and project setup.
  • Model Building – Participants learned how to create measurement and structural models.
  • Data Input and Validation – Instructions on importing data and checking for reliability and validity (Cronbach’s Alpha, CR, AVE, etc.).
  • Running the Model – Demonstrated path Modeling, bootstrapping, and interpreting output (path coefficients, R², t-values).
  • Q&A and Case Practice – Interactive Q&A and live practice with sample research data.

The session was highly interactive, with participants actively engaging in Q&A and discussion. The workshop successfully fulfilled its objective of equipping beginners with foundational knowledge and hands-on experience in SmartPLS. It served as a stepping stone for participants to confidently apply quantitative modeling in their research.

VOTE OF THANKS
