As part of the Orientation Program, the Department of English & Other Foreign Languages conducted exclusive academic sessions on 10th July 2025, focusing on core literary topics relevant to the undergraduate English curriculum.
The goal was to introduce students to the fundamentals of literary studies and cultivate early interest in academic engagement.
The following sessions were conducted:
- Dr. K.A. Vilasini discussed “Literary Criticism from Plato to Modernism” and highlighted the evolution of critical thought in literature.
- Dr. Adappatu Ancy Antony presented a foundational lecture on “British Literature”, covering key authors and historical periods.
- Dr. R. Rexmart explored “European Classical Literature up to Chaucer”, enriching students with classical literary traditions.
These sessions provided students with a strong academic foundation and reflected the department’s commitment to fostering critical thinking and literary appreciation. The initiative also supported the goals of Quality Education and Cultural Enrichment
