The event commenced with a Patriotic Rally organized by NSS volunteers and Campus Life students of FSH, symbolizing unity, national pride and the values of freedom.
The celebration was graced by the esteemed presence of Mrs. Tmg. Ezhilarasi Velmurugan and Mr. Col Velmurugan, who served in the Indian Army after his commissioning from the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun in 1998. Col Velmurugan delivered an inspiring Guest Speech, reflecting on his service to the nation and motivating students to contribute positively to society.
In his Guest Speech, Col Velmurugan shared his inspiring journey of service to the nation. He spoke about the unwavering commitment of soldiers who dedicate their prime years to guarding the country, often sacrificing personal milestones, family moments and a conventional lifestyle. He highlighted how a soldier’s life demands discipline, courage and resilience and that the security and peace enjoyed by citizens are built on the sacrifices of the armed forces.
He also emphasized the vital role of women in the lives of armed forces personnel, especially wives and mothers, who shoulder family responsibilities single-handedly during their absence. He applauded Mrs. Ezhilarasi Velmurugan for her strength, adaptability and dedication in managing the family while he was posted in challenging terrains. Through this, he urged the audience to recognize that the strength of the nation lies not only in its soldiers but also in the families that stand firmly behind them.
The presence of Directors, Deans and Vice Principals from various institutions across the campus added to the grandeur of the occasion.
