Dr. Rajeswari Ilango is the Managing Trustee of RUDIRs Educational & Charitable Trust and serves as the President at MIMNNA and YBSPKV, MSME Chennai. She is an experienced academician and social entrepreneur, actively involved in initiatives that empower women through education, skill development, and cultural enrichment. With her expertise and leadership, she contributes significantly to promoting traditional practices with a modern perspective, particularly in nurturing confidence and elegance among young women.

Raksha Shree from II BCom (A/F) gave the guest introduction, eloquently highlighting Dr. Rajeswari Ilango impressive credentials and expertise in art of saree in draping .

- The Faculty of Science and Humanities, Department of Commerce (Accounting & Finance), SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, organized a One Day Skill Development Workshop exclusively for young women students on the theme “Grace in Drapes: Mastering the Art of Saree in Draping”.
- The workshop aimed to empower students by enhancing their cultural elegance and confidence through the traditional art of saree draping. The resource person for the event was Dr. Rajeswari Ilango, Managing Trustee of RUDIRs Educational & Charitable Trust and President at MIMNNA and YBSPKV, MSME With her expertise, Dr. Rajeswari guided the participants in understanding the nuances of saree draping, blending tradition with modern presentation.

OUTCOMES OF THE PROGRAM: (Based on SDG)
The skill development workshop on “Grace in Drapes: Mastering the Art of Saree in Draping” successfully aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals by fostering empowerment and holistic growth among young women students. In line with SDG 1 (No Poverty), the session created awareness on how traditional skills like saree draping can also serve as entrepreneurial opportunities for financial independence. Addressing SDG 4 (Quality Education), the workshop enriched academic learning with hands-on practical exposure. Through its exclusive focus on women, it promoted SDG 5 (Gender Equality) by enhancing confidence, self-expression, and equal opportunities.
