One Day National Seminar – Voicing the Silenced: Literature, Identity, and Resistance in Contemporary India
The Department of English and Foreign Languages, Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRMIST Ramapuram, organized a One Day National Seminar on “Voicing the Silenced: Literature, Identity, and Resistance in Contemporary India” on 11th September 2025.
The sessions were led by Prof. Dr. Jaydeep Sarangi (New Alipore College, Kolkata) and Prof. Dr. Joji John Panicker (CMS College, Kottayam), who spoke on caste, memory, counter-narratives, digital dissent, and the politics of visibility.
The seminar drew over 150 participants (online and offline), featuring thought-provoking discussions and active student engagement. It highlighted literature’s role in reclaiming marginalized voices and fostering interdisciplinary dialogue, while encouraging research collaborations and cross-regional scholarly exchange.
