Chord Crushers
The Language Elites and Sangamam of the Department of English and other Foreign Languages, FSH, SRMIST Ramapuram, successfully conducted the solo singing contest – Chord Crushers on 24th September 2025. Themed around English Jazz and Tamil Folk, the competition aimed to celebrate the richness of musical expression and cultural diversity among students of FSH.
Around 18 talented students were shortlisted for the final performance round, where they captivated the audience with their vocal prowess, stage presence and genre versatility. The event was judged by Dr. Jabeela Shirlin, Head of the Department of English and other Foreign Languages, who brought her refined artistic sensibility and critical insight to the evaluation process.
Chord Crushers offered a platform for students to express themselves musically while engaging with distinct musical traditions. The contest not only showcased individual talent but also fostered a spirit of artistic appreciation in students. The event was marked by energy, elegance and enthusiasm, making it a melodious celebration of language through music.
