  • Totally 84 participants from various Institutions actively participated in PDP program
  • The PDP program aimed to enhance the research competencies of Faculty members and Research Scholars by providing comprehensive knowledge on various methods, tools and ethical considerations involved in the data collection process.
  • D.Buvanendran highlighted the use of digital tools and software in data collection
  • He also outlined quantitative data collection techniques including survey design, sampling methods, structured questionnaire and scaling techniques
  • He also focused on qualitative data collection methods including interviews, focus group discussion, case study etc.
  • He explained with live examples and case studies to bring out quality in data collection

  • The main aim of sensitizing faculty and research scholars about academic integrity and strategies to prevent plagiarism in academic writing.
  • L Ranjit highlighted the importance of originality in academic and research work.
  • He also delivered a comprehensive presentation on the concept of plagiarism, its types, and the consequences it can have on academic credibility.
  • He outlined the tools and software used for plagiarism detection (e.g., Turnitin, Urkund, Grammarly)
  • He also highlighted the best practices for paraphrasing, citing, and referencing
  • It was an Interactive discussion and Q&A sessions enabled participants to clarify doubts and learn practical techniques to enhance the originality of their work.
  • The resource person also demonstrated the use of plagiarism detection tools and provided tips to improve academic writing skills.

SUMMARY OF THE EVENT:

The Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Management, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, successfully conducted a one-week Hybrid Professional Development Programme (PDP) from 22nd to 26th July 2025 on “Emerging Research Skills: AI Tools, Plagiarism Reduction & Ethical Publishing”. The sessions featured eminent resource persons from reputed institutions who covered vital topics including AI tools for research, data-driven analytics, ethics in data collection, plagiarism prevention, and responsible AI adoption. With active participation from over 120 faculty members and research scholars, the programme enhanced participants’ competencies in using advanced research tools, designing ethical studies, and improving academic writing. Feedback highlighted that the sessions were highly engaging, informative, and practically valuable for academic and research excellence
