BRIEF PROFILE OF THE SPEAKER :

Dr. J. Vijayalakshmi is an esteemed Assistant Professor in the Department of Master of Computer Applications at MEASI Institute of Information Technology, Chennai. She specializes in areas like data analytics, machine learning, and software engineering. With a strong academic and research background, she has published several papers in reputed journals and presented at various national and international conferences. She have received Best Women Faculty Award 2022 and Best Faculty Award from Krishnasamy College of Engineering and Technology for the year 2016.

SUMMARY OF THE EVENT:

  • The event began with the rendition of Tamil Thai Vaazhthu, setting a respectful tone. The Journal Club of the Department of Computer Science successfully organized a one-day seminar titled “Navigating Research: A Guide from Hypothesis to Publication.” The session commenced with a warm welcome and context-setting by Dr. G. Sugin Lal, who introduced the objectives and significance of the Journal Club initiative.
  • The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Angline Christobel Y, who highlighted the importance of fostering a research culture among students. This was followed by the introduction of the chief guest, Dr. J. Vijayalakshmi, Assistant Professor, Department of MCA, MEASI Institute of Information
  • Vijayalakshmi led an insightful session guiding students through the complete research journey — from formulating a hypothesis to publishing in reputed journals. Her talk covered essential areas such as literature review, methodology, data analysis, and publication ethics.
  • After the engaging and interactive session, the event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by G. Sasipriya, expressing gratitude to the resource person, organizers, and all participants for their valuable contributions.
