SUMMARY OF THE EVENT:

Harnessing the Power of Natural Language Processing event was organized on 18.06.2025 in Zoom Meeting from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Dr.K.Priya, Associate professor (MBA) gave  Welcome address and graced the event by highlighting the importance of  Natural Language Processing. The Guest speaker Mr.A. Madhavan, Founder and Director of ChenAi, given a glance on Natural Language Processing and  interacted with MBA Students highlighting  about the prominence of Natural Language Processing in present world.

The webinar began with an introduction to Natural Language Processing (NLP), highlighting its importance in enabling computers to understand and interact with human language. It explained how NLP serves as a bridge between human communication and machine understanding. Real-world applications such as chatbots, sentiment analysis, machine translation, voice assistants, automated summarization, and intelligent search were showcased to illustrate NLP’s growing relevance across various industries.

The session explored the core techniques used in NLP, including tokenization, stemming, lemmatization, part-of-speech tagging, named entity recognition, and syntactic parsing. It also highlighted the significant transition from traditional rule-based approaches to machine learning and deep learning methods, emphasizing how transformer-based architectures like BERT, GPT, and T5 have revolutionized NLP capabilities. Live demonstrations showed how NLP is applied in domains such as customer service, healthcare, and business data analysis.

The webinar also addressed critical ethical issues such as bias in language models, data privacy concerns, and the importance of building transparent and fair AI systems. Looking ahead, the speakers discussed the future of NLP, including advances in zero-shot learning, the development of multilingual models, and the convergence of NLP with fields like computer vision. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where participants received guidance on practical implementation, open-source tools, and career opportunities in the NLP field.

Participants Interacted and enjoyed the session, felt happy and thanked the Faculty of Management for organizing such an interesting and energizing programme in the entrepreneurial journey.

This session has proven to be a beneficial resource for students and is expected to contribute positively to the overall efficiency and productivity of the institution in preserving the water.

We thank our Management, Dean Dr. C. Sundar and HoD Dr. R. Arulmoli for their invaluable guidance and motivation that inspire us to host such events.

OUTCOMES OF THE PROGRAM:

The outcome of the NLP webinar was a comprehensive understanding of how Natural Language Processing enables machines to interpret and generate human language. Participants gained foundational knowledge of NLP concepts, tools, and techniques, such as tokenization, stemming, lemmatization, and named entity recognition. The program effectively bridged the gap between theory and practice by introducing attendees to real-world applications in sectors like healthcare, customer service, and data analysis.

A key takeaway was the evolution of NLP from rule-based systems to advanced machine learning and deep learning models, particularly those using transformer architectures like BERT, GPT, and T5. Participants observed the effectiveness of these models through live demonstrations, which showcased their use in automating tasks, analyzing unstructured data, and enhancing user experiences through intelligent interfaces. This empowered attendees with insights into current industry practices and the potential for innovation using NLP.

The program also successfully highlighted important ethical considerations, such as model bias and data privacy, emphasizing the need for fairness and transparency in AI systems. By the end of the session, participants were better informed about the future directions of NLP, including zero-shot learning and multilingual modeling. Additionally, the interactive Q&A session helped clarify doubts, offered practical advice on implementation, and provided valuable guidance on career paths in the rapidly evolving field of Natural Language Processing.
