SUMMARY OF THE EVENT:  Social welfare activity was organized by Dr. S. Lakshmi, Dr. P. Mohanraj, Dr.V. Susan  Jayaseeli Manuel, Assistant professors, Faculty of Management on 12.6.25. The team visited the old age with an intention to serve the community who is urging for Love and compassion.

Objective of the visit: 

  • To develop the Idea of being responsible, sharing and caring with compassion and love towards aged parents.
  • To have satisfaction for serving the elderly with a small seed.
  • To determine the prevalence of Geriatric depression amongst the elderly population.
  • The visit aimed to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages mapping with the  SDG goals 2 and  3
  • This includes addressing a range of health issues due to communicable and non-communicable diseases.
  • It also focuses on universal health coverage, access to affordable medicines and vaccines, and preventing premature deaths from preventable diseases.
  • We interacted with them and they shared their light moments, bringing smiles and a sense of belonging.We also donated essential items including snacks, groceries, toiletries, and medical supplies to support the daily needs of the home.
  • The initiative fostered a spirit of compassion and social responsibility, leaving a lasting impression on both the visitors and the residents.
  • The event served as a reminder of the importance of valuing and nurturing our senior community.

At this juncture, we would like to thank our Management , Our respected Dean sir, Dr. C Sundar and our beloved HOD sir, Dr. R. Arulmoli, for their constant support and encouragement  in motivating us to organize such social events and to learn the Best practices in our lifestyle.

OUTCOMES OF THE PROGRAM:  The social welfare activity  organized by    faculty members they can set a powerful example for their students, encouraging them to engage in community service and develop a holistic understanding of their societal role.Such initiatives burnish the institution’s image as a socially conscious and engaged entity, attracting students and faculty who value community service.Finally, faculty visits to old age homes as a social welfare activity create a synergistic outcome, significantly improving the quality of life for the elderly residents while simultaneously enriching the professional and personal lives of the faculty and bolstering the social impact of the academic institution.
