BRIEF PROFILE OF THE SPEAKER:
Mr. Viswanathan Vaidyanathan is a Corporate Trainer, Consultant, and Visiting Faculty with over 30 years of senior management experience in India and the Sultanate of Oman. He specializes in Project Management, Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, Operations, Supply Chain Management, HR, and Investor Awareness.
A certified SEBI Securities Market Trainer (SMART) and NLP Practitioner, he has conducted numerous corporate training programs and workshops for professionals across industries. He also teaches management subjects at leading B-Schools, including the ITM Group of Institutions.
Viswanathan has co-authored the book “Turning Points: Management Lessons from Legends” for the Madras Management Association (MMA) and is an active member of PMI, MMA, and IIMM.
SUMMARY OF THE EVENT:
An Investment Awareness program named “One –Day Skill Development Program on Exploring Investment Opportunities” has been conducted in online on 25th August 2025 between 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m..
This program was organized for the under graduates and post graduates of B.Com (A&F) to enhance their knowledge about various investment avenues, financial planning and risk-return analysis.
Program sessions
1. Benefits of Early investing:
The session showed how beginning investments at a younger age significantly increases wealth accumulation, mainly due to the effects of compounding, as demonstrated through comparative examples.
2. Importance of Securities Market:
Students learned that securities markets provide vital opportunities for entrepreneurs to raise capital and allow investors flexibility to enter and exit investments as
3.Market Structure:
Distinctions between the primary and secondary markets were clearly illustrated, emphasizing how new shares reach investors and how existing shares are traded among investors
4. Q&A segment
Students actively came forward and asked doubts related to Risk Related Equities, Digi Gold and Gold ETF’s.
The program concluded the session effectively demystified investment concepts and encouraged proactive, informed participation in the securities market, supported by practical tools and clear educational content

In our session, we focused on empowering our UG & PG commerce students with:
- Promoted financial literacy, especially the benefits of investing early .
- Provided accessible knowledge on complex topics like compounding and market structures.
- Introduced free investor awareness tests and digital resources.

Promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all.
Through the webinar, we emphasized:
- How does investment contribute to wealth creation, supporting individual economic empowerment?
- In what ways do robust securities markets support economic activity by enabling capital formation, investment diversification, and returns?
- Why are mechanisms for liquidity and capital growth vital for promoting productive employment and entrepreneurship?
SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation.
The session highlights key points on
- How securities markets facilitate capital raising for enterprises, fueling innovation and industrial growth?
- Demonstrates the role of technology (like mobile apps and online tests) in improving access and efficiency in the investment ecosystem.
- Encourages innovative investment practices and tools, contributing to modern infrastructure for finance and industry.
SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.
The webinar focused on:
- Advocated personal financial planning as a foundation for economic resilience within communities.
- Supported sustainable growth by educating citizens on investments, which helps create more financially secure and empowered cities.
- Promoted awareness of regulated investment products, guiding safer financial participation and reducing vulnerability to economic shocks
OUTCOMES OF THE PROGRAM (Based on SDGs):
The webinar achieved outcomes aligned with SDG 4 (Quality Education) , SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) , SDG 9 ( Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) and SDG 11 ( Sustainable Cities and Communities) emphasized integrated approaches for sustainable urbanization, economic inclusion, and Educational empowerment. By engaging students in interactive activities and discussions, the program fostered a deeper understanding of importance of measuring social impacts and embedding sustainability in business models for holistic development.
