SUMMARY OF THE EVENT:
The Faculty of Science and Humanities, Department of Mathematics, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, organized a Poster Contest on “Linear Programming Problems” for I MBA students on 12 November 2025 at P.G. Block Room No. 203.The objective of the contest was to enhance students’ analytical thinking and problem-solving skills through creative visualization of real-world business optimization problems. The event provided a platform for MBA students to connect mathematical modeling with managerial decision-making processes. Participants presented posters that effectively demonstrated the application of Linear Programming (LP) in areas such as production scheduling, transportation, resource allocation, and cost minimization. The posters were assessed on clarity of mathematical concepts, originality, creativity, and business relevance. A total of 6 teams participated enthusiastically in the contest, each showcasing innovative approaches to solving optimization challenges. The event fostered critical thinking, teamwork, and communication among the students. The session concluded successfully with appreciation from faculty and participants. The event encouraged students to understand the importance of mathematical optimization tools in decision science and managerial contexts.
BEST PRESENTATION APPRECIATION:
The Department of Mathematics proudly congratulates the Best Presentation Team of the Poster Contest. The winning team stood out for their innovative problem formulation, clarity of concept, and effective visual presentation linking mathematics with business strategy. The Department commends all participants for their enthusiastic involvement and encourages them to continue exploring the application of mathematical tools in business decision-making and research.
