SUMMARY OF THE EVENT
The REVIVE-2025 Cloth Drive was a week-long initiative aimed at promoting sustainability and supporting underprivileged communities. From 10th to 17th November 2025, students and staff were encouraged to donate preloved clothing to help reduce textile waste and offer support to individuals in need.
This meaningful initiative created awareness about responsible consumption, recycling, and upcycling in fashion—aligning strongly with the sustainable vision of SRMIST.
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
Arrival and Setup
Collection boxes were placed at key points across the campus. Volunteers ensured proper labeling, monitoring, and organizing of the deposited garments.
Clothes Donation
Students and faculty generously donated:
Shirts, T-shirts, pants
Sarees, kurtas, salwars
Kids’ clothing
Winter wear
Bags and accessories
The response was overwhelming and reflected the compassionate spirit of the SRM community.
Sorting and Categorization
Fashion Designing students categorized garments based on:
Type
Fabri
Condition
Suitability for upcycling or direct donation
This step gave students hands-on exposure to garment handling and textile management.
Upcycling & Repair Station
Clothes needing small repairs were:
Stitched
Cleaned
Altered
Transformed into new functional pieces
This also supported skill-based learning in garment construction and sustainability.
Packing and Distribution
Garments in good condition were packed for distribution to:
Orphanages
Community shelters
Slum dwellings
Women & children support homes
The initiative ensured the collected items reached communities who would benefit the most.
