Inspiring Young Minds through Science Awareness!
The Department of Biotechnology, FSH, SRMIST-Ramapuram successfully organized a Brand Building Activity – “Lab on Live” for the students of St. George Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, Shenoy Nagar, Chennai, on 05 February 2026.
As part of this outreach initiative, faculty member Dr.G.Priya and her research scholars of the department conducted an interactive workshop focusing on Food Adulteration Testing. The session aimed to create awareness among school students about the importance of food safety and public health.
Through simple, practical, and easy-to-understand demonstrations, students were introduced to:
- Common food adulterants and their health risks
- Basic detection methods using household and laboratory techniques
- Importance of scientific awareness in daily life
The session received enthusiastic participation from the school students, who actively engaged in demonstrations and discussions. The program successfully promoted scientific curiosity and highlighted the role of biotechnology in ensuring food quality and safety.
