Objective of the Event
The 6th International Conference on “Globalizing Sustainability: Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Environment, Technology, and Management” was organized with the primary objective of providing a dynamic and inclusive platform for academicians, researchers, industry professionals, and students to exchange knowledge, present innovative research, and deliberate on sustainable solutions to pressing global challenges through interdisciplinary approaches.
The specific objectives of the conference were to:
Promote the advancement of sustainability-focused research by sharing cutting-edge findings across the disciplines of environment, technology, and management.
Showcase innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to addressing environmental and societal challenges, with emphasis on sustainable supply chain management, circular economy, and responsible leadership.

Discuss the potential impact of emerging technologies and sustainable practices across key sectors, including renewable energy, green business, and environmental policy.
Provide young researchers and scholars with a platform to present their work and receive expert feedback, thereby nurturing the next generation of academic contributors.
Synopsis of the Event
The Department of Commerce, Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRMIST Ramapuram, successfully organized the 6th International Conference on “Globalizing Sustainability: Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Environment, Technology and Management” on 10 April 2026 in hybrid mode at Gallery Hall, Block V. The conference brought together academicians, researchers, industry experts, and students to discuss sustainable solutions across environment, technology, and management.
Welcome address
The event commenced with an invocation followed by a Welcome Address delivered by Dr. T.V. Ambuli, Head, Department of Commerce, who warmly welcomed all distinguished guests, speakers, and participants and set the tone for the day’s academic proceedings.
Inaugural session
The inaugural session was presided over by Dr. S. Thirumagan, Dean (S&H), SRMIST Ramapuram. Dr. N. Pughazendi, Vice President – Academics (FSH), delivered the Felicitation Address, acknowledging the significance of the conference theme and the importance of interdisciplinary sustainability research in the contemporary global context.
Importance of the event
The conference sought to globalize sustainability discourse by bringing together interdisciplinary perspectives on environment, technology, and management. It aimed to promote innovative research, facilitate knowledge exchange among international and national scholars, and advance sustainable development on a global platform — fostering collaboration between academia and industry while addressing contemporary challenges in environmental sustainability, green technologies, renewable energy, and sustainable business practices
Chief Guest — Inaugural address
The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. K. Mathiyazhagan, Professor and Head, Research Centre, Thiagarajar School of Management, Madurai. Dr. Mathiyazhagan, who is listed among Stanford University’s Top 2% Scientists globally and has garnered over 7,000 research citations, highlighted sustainable supply chain management, circular economy, and responsible leadership as key drivers for addressing global challenges. His address set a strong academic foundation for the sessions that followed.
Keynote address
The Keynote Address was delivered online by Prof. Luzaan Hamilton, Associate Professor, Department of Business Management, North West University (Vanderbijlpark Campus), Gauteng, South Africa. Drawing on her extensive research in entrepreneurship and sustainability, Prof. Hamilton shared valuable global insights on sustainability, offering an international perspective that enriched the discourse of the inaugural session.
Technical sessions
The technical sessions were organised across multiple tracks covering environmental sustainability, green technologies, renewable energy, sustainable business practices, and emerging innovations. The conference received an overwhelming global response, with 200 participants from more than 12 countries. A total of 90+ research papers were received, of which 60 papers were shortlisted and presented, enriching the event with diverse international and national perspectives. Active engagement, thought-provoking presentations, and meaningful discussions made the sessions academically rewarding, particularly for young researchers who gained valuable feedback from experts.

Valedictory
The Valedictory Session marked the formal conclusion of the 6th International Conference and was held in Gallery Hall, Block V, following the technical sessions. The session featured insightful addresses by the valedictory resource persons, who reflected on the themes explored during the conference and offered forward-looking perspectives on sustainability research and academic collaboration.
Valedictory resource persons
Dr. Firdous Ahmad Malik, Assistant Professor of Economics, University of the People, USA, and Post-Doctoral Fellow, Amity University, Dubai — an accomplished economist with over 30 Scopus-indexed publications and 14 authored books with leading publishers including Springer, Routledge, and IGI Global — delivered a thought-provoking address on financial sustainability, innovation, and global economic research.
Dr. A. Anuradha, Professor, Department of MBA and Centre for Research, Cambridge Institute of Technology, Bangalore, also addressed the gathering, offering her valuable observations on sustainability, innovation, and the importance of academia-industry collaboration. Their combined contributions added further depth and intellectual rigour to the conference proceedings.
Best Paper Presentation Awards
Best Paper Presentation Awards were conferred upon deserving scholars in recognition of their outstanding research contributions across all tracks.
Certificates of participation were distributed to all presenters and registered delegates. The valedictory session served as a reflective and celebratory close, summarizing the key insights, outcomes, and recommendations that emerged from the day’s deliberations.
Vote of Thanks
The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. Janis Bibiyana D., Associate Professor and Programme Co-ordinator, Department of Commerce (Professional Accounting & ISM), SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram.
In her address, she extended sincere gratitude to the Management of SRM Institute of Science and Technology for their steadfast support and encouragement. She thanked Dr. S. Thirumagan, Dean (S&H), and Dr. N. Pughazendi, Vice President – Academics (FSH), for their leadership and guidance. Heartfelt appreciation was expressed to Dr. T.V. Ambuli, Head, Department of Commerce, for his vision and dedication in organising this landmark event.
She warmly acknowledged the distinguished Chief Guest Dr. K. Mathiyazhagan, Keynote Speaker Prof. Luzaan Hamilton, and valedictory resource persons Dr. Firdous Ahmad Malik and Dr. A. Anuradha for their enlightening addresses and invaluable academic contributions. Special thanks were also extended to all session co-ordinators, committee members, faculty colleagues, research scholars, and student volunteers whose tireless efforts ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the conference.
She concluded by acknowledging the 200+ delegates from more than 12 countries whose active participation and scholarly contributions made the 6th International Conference a truly global and impactful academic event. The conference, she affirmed, had successfully achieved its vision of globalising sustainability through interdisciplinary dialogue and had marked a significant milestone in promoting sustainability-focused research and knowledge exchange.
