Summary of the event
LUMINEX ’26, a National Level Intercollegiate Symposium organized by the Department of Commerce (Corporate Secretaryship), Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, was successfully conducted over two days with great enthusiasm and participation.
The inauguration ceremony was held on 17th March 2026 at the TRP Auditorium and was organized and hosted by the I B.Com CS students. The event commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. J. Kumar, Head of the Department of Commerce, who greeted the dignitaries, speakers, and participants and highlighted the importance of such academic platforms.
The felicitation address was delivered by Dean Dr. S. Tirumaan, Faculty of Science and Humanities, who encouraged students to actively participate and make the most of the opportunities provided through the symposium. Felicitation for the judges was carried out by the Dean along with the Vice Principal (Academics), Dr. Puzhathendi, recognizing their valuable contribution to the event.
The introduction of the chief guest, Dr. Alfred Jose, was presented by Mr. Gunasekaran, following which Dr. Alfred Jose delivered an engaging and motivational session that energized and entertained the students with his powerful insights on life and personal growth.
This was followed by an inspiring speech by Dr. Prabhu, who motivated the students with his thought-provoking words and real-life experiences.
The inauguration ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the III B.Com CS students, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, speakers, organizers, and participants.
Following the inauguration, a variety of events were conducted across different venues including TRP Auditorium, I-Tech Hall 1, and I-Tech Hall 2. The symposium witnessed participation from 15 colleges, making it a vibrant and competitive platform.
The events conducted included both technical and non-technical activities such as Brand Blitz, Start-up Pitch, Box Cricket, Football, Cineverse, IPL Auction, and Cooking Without Fire, providing students with opportunities to showcase their skills, creativity, and teamwork.
The Valedictory Ceremony was held on the second day at the OAT (Open Air Theatre) at 3:00 PM, where winners were awarded certificates and trophies. The event concluded on a grand note with the Overall Championship Trophy being won by SRM Vadapalani Campus students, securing 7 wins across various events.
Overall, LUMINEX ’26 was a grand success, fostering learning, innovation, and collaboration among students from various institutions.
