Objective of the Event:

The Faculty Immersion Program was organized with the following objectives:

  • To provide faculty members with first-hand exposure to contemporary industry practices and organizational operations.
  • To understand the latest technological advancements and their applications in business and industry.
  • To bridge the gap between academic teaching and industry requirements through experiential learning.
  • To enhance faculty knowledge regarding emerging domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), and Digital Transformation.
  • To explore opportunities for industry–academia collaboration in the areas of training, internships, certification programs, research, and consultancy.
  • To identify industry-relevant skills and competencies required for improving student employability.
  • To facilitate the integration of practical industry insights into curriculum design and classroom pedagogy.
  • To strengthen professional networking and establish long-term partnerships with industry experts and organizations.

 

Synopsis of the Events:

The Department of Commerce (PA, ISM & IAF), Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram , organized a Faculty Immersion Program at Pantech Solutions, T. Nagar, Chennai, on 30th May 2026. The program was attended by Dr. D. Janis Bibiyana, Head of the Department, along with Dr. S. Lakshmi, Dr. T. Rani, and Dr. J. Salomi Backia Jothi.

The visit commenced with an interactive session conducted by the industry experts of Pantech Solutions. The faculty members were introduced to the company’s operations, training methodologies, industry-oriented projects, and emerging technological advancements. The experts highlighted the growing significance of Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), and Embedded Systems, Full Stack Development, and Industry 4.0 technologies in the current business environment.

During the interaction, faculty members engaged in meaningful discussions regarding industry expectations, skill requirements for graduates, internship opportunities, certification programs, and collaborative initiatives between academia and industry. The session provided valuable insights into how technology-driven solutions are transforming modern business processes and organizational decision-making.

The program commenced with an introductory keynote address mapping out the core focus areas: Industry Exposure, Innovation, Technology Integration, and Collaboration.

 

Offline Session

The industry experts from Pantech Solutions led intensive technical interactions:

  • Balamurali detailed the business and cross-disciplinary applications of technical tools, showcasing how emerging technology directly impacts corporate accounting, analytics, and information systems management.
  • Harinath and Ms. Mithra provided direct technical insights into real-world projects, unpacking the functional pipeline of Generative AI, IoT frameworks, and automation platforms. Faculty members interacted directly with the technical ecosystem to observe how industry-standard tools are integrated into live developments.

The Faculty Immersion Program played a significant role in strengthening the relationship between academia and industry.
