WELCOME ADDRESS: Dr. J. Dhilipan – HOD/MCA and Vice Principal-Admin

Dr. J. Dhilipan – HOD/MCA and Vice Principal-Admin presented the welcome address. During this, he welcomed the chief guest of today’s function.He added that Covid-19 is spreading like anything in the society and the department has organized a special program to give an awareness on avoidance of Covid-19.He concluded his address by requesting the participants to make use of this forum

Dr D. Prabhu started the address with the brief introduction of impact of the second wave of covid-19. He then discussed the Historical background of covid-19-outbreak of respiratory disease caused by a new coronavirus that was first detected in China and has now been detected in more than 70 locations internationally, including in the United States and the disease it causes has been named “Coronavirus Disease 2019” (abbreviated “COVID-19”).

His discussion continued with Global response in connection with covid-19

He then explained  the New strains with 7 symptoms

Most common symptoms:

• Fever
• Dry cough
• Tiredness

Less common symptoms:

• Aches and pains
• Sore throat
• Diarrhea
• Conjunctivitis
• Headache
• A rash on skin, or discolouration of fingers or toes

He concluded his speech by explaining about other variants of Covid 19. Double mutant covid19 variant in India-latest updates of the same-He also explained about From which country it has come.  Explained about how the cases are increasing by explaining 7 day average in India. He stated that Wave 2 dangerously rising fast and the  start of Wave 2 was from Feb 2021.He gave suggestions on How to prevent? Stepwise and integrative infrastructure to combat Covid 19

Then the session was opened to the students for clarification of their doubts. The entire session was much useful to the students. The event was coordinated by  Mr.D.Rajkumar AP/MCA and around 100 students attended the event.
