SILVER FRAMES 2021
The Department of Visual Communication, College of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram conducted National Level Short Film Competition “Silver Frames 2021” on 18/03/2021. The Short film competition which had a humble beginning in the year 2017 now in the year 2021 has become a synonymous to Short Film Competition witnessed the participation of 109 Entries from Institutions and colleges across India. Out of 109 entries received for the competition top three movies done by students of SRM Group of Institutions Ramapuram campus and three movies under inter college category were screened at Dept. of Visual Communication, Viewing Hall, PG Dental Block 6th Floor. Dr.C.Sundar, Principal, College of Science and Humanities welcomed the gathering by giving Presidential Address. Actor Rio Raj, Actor Robo Shankar and Film Director Badri Venkatesh were the Guest of honors for the event. They shared their experiences about their movie “Plan Panni Pananum” which is going to be released on March 19th,2021.
Actor Rio Raj in his speech encouraged students to make more no of short films to fine tune their creativity and film making skills. Robo shankar in his speech spoke about the need and demand of young and fresh minds for the industry. Winners of the short film competition were awarded with memento and certificates by dignitaries and celebrities who graced the occasion. In the Inter College Category the first prize was bagged by Vels University, second prize by Loyola Arts & Science College and third prize by Sri Manakula Vinayagar College of Engineering. And in Intra College category which is exclusively for SRM Ramapuram Students First prize was won by team of film makers from Commerce Dept., College of Science & Humanities, SRMIST, Ramapuram and second prize by BSc. Visual Communication College of Science & Humanities, SRMIST, Ramapuram. Category awards for Best Director, Actor, Actress, Editor, Cinematographer and Music Director was also awarded to the shortlisted students in both Inter and Intra College Categories.
