FDP on Introduction to R- programming
The excessive demand for data skills and the use of data to take informed business decisions has led to a boom in data science. In order to analyse data , a powerful programming language is quintessential.
Coping with the demand of advancements in technology , the Department of Mathematics has always strived to keep faculty up-to-date with the advancements by organising a FDP on Introduction to R- programming ” on 30.06.2021 for faculty members, research scholars and students.

Dr. Senthil ensured that the programme is hands-on and interactive. He explained the importance of R as the language of data scientists and data miners.
He gave an elaborate understanding of R by explaining about the built-in Math functions that allows users to perform Mathematical tasks like finding square roots , absolute value, roudning off numbers etc. Further he took examples of data from statistics and explained how to import data and obtain required results.
The programme benefitted over 100 participants who got hands-on training in R programming, paving the way for exploring data sets for their research and development.
