Topic: Transforming Energy Sector with Artificial Intelligence: Application of AI in Energy Efficiency & Smart Grid

WELCOME ADDRESS DR.J.DHILIPAN HOD-MCA AND VICE PRINCIPAL-ADMIN

  • DR.J.DHILIPAN VICE PRINCIPAL ADMIN and HOD MCA presented the welcome address. During his address he welcomed the chief guest of today’s function and expressed his gratitude for accepting our invitation
  • He quoted the how the processes like  data collection, storage and management are done in power grids and Power management, power optimization and minimizing the power consumption is implemented using energy optimization.
  •  Mr.N.Krishnamoorthy- Assistant Professor/MCA  read the chief guest profile and introduced the guest to the audience

 Day 9 – Technical Session

  • Mr Jothi Periasamy started the session with how AI is used in Energy Sector, its Frameworks and how its applied and what to learn for. He contimued with the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence with industry perspective in what is it? – Who – How scenario with driving, medical diagnosis and coding use cases.
  •  Mr Jothi Periasamy also explained about how artificial intelligence can be considered as an substitution for Human intelligence in future. He also insisted how industries adopt artificial intelligence as an substitute for Human intelligence.
  • Mr Jothi Periasamy very elaborately  explained about the  Fundamentals building blocks of AI, core building blocks of machine learning and how to build applications in AI using statistical based learning approach and neural based learning approach. He also introduced Deep Learning layers and explained about how to make a machine to learn.
  •  Mr Jothi Periasamy then explained about Energy demand approach with an demo on tailored made application on how energy demand forecasting is done using a demo with help of their own product  named energy demand forecasting V8. And how different machine learning models were deployed to  optimize energy and perform energy demand forcasting on how much energy we need in terms with how much energy is produced.
  • He concluded by explaining how they implemented this model to implement Energy demand forcasting technology building blocks using Github , Google clud, Colabs, AWS and SAP.
  • Then the entire session was opened to the audience for clarification of their doubts and interaction. The entire session was much useful for all the participants
  •  Mr.D.Rajkumar – Assistant Professor/MCA presented the vote of thanks for the day 9 technical session
