Webinar on “Indian Diaspora: Ethnicity and Diasporic Identity” for B.A. English Literature students on 09/08/2021

Department of English and Other Foreign Languages organised a webinar on “Indian Diaspora: Ethnicity and Diasporic Identity” for B.A. English Literature students. The webinar was convened by Dr. V. Rema, Prof. and Head, Department of EFL. The programme was coordinated by Dr.T. Sri Devi, Assistant Professor (Sr. G), EFL. Nearly 150 students from various colleges attended the program.

Dr. V. Rema, Prof. and Head, Department of EFL welcomed the gathering and Dr.T. Sri Devi, Assistant Professor (Sr. G) introduced the resource person to the gathering. Ms.S. Poornima, UG Department of English, Trinity College for Women (Arts and Science) Namakkal was the resource person. She had thrown light on the history of diaspora and the birth of Diasporic Literature. Further she talked about the characteristics of Indian Diasporic Writing with special reference to the works of Meena Alexander, Rohintan Mistry and Kiran Desai. Mrs.M. Nathiya, Assistant Professor, EFL proposed the vote of thanks.
